Two days ago, I met with a client who has been a loyal partner for five years. However, we didn’t collaborate at all last year, and I couldn’t reach him either. For a while, I thought I had lost him forever. To my surprise, he found me again at this year’s Guangzhou CIFF Fair.
He told me that last year, during the same exhibition, he met another office furniture manufacturer. Attracted by their lower prices and seemingly identical products, he decided to work with them instead of Xusheng Furniture. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as expected. While their furniture appeared similar to ours on the surface, the quality was far from satisfactory. Many buyers returned the products due to defects, and when my client contacted their after-sales service, the response was terrible—constant delays and little effort to resolve issues. This led to much of his inventory going unsold last year.
As he put it, “For a businessman, reputation is more important than profit, especially for someone like me who believes in long-term relationships.” That’s why he came back to us this year, hoping to rebuild our partnership.
